Sensoji Temple in Tokyo
Located in Akasuka in the center of Tokyo’s old town area is the Sensoji Temple. This very popular ancient Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple and one of the most significant. The temple was completed in the year 645.

The Hozomon Gate
Two main gates lead to the Sensoji temple , the first is the Thunder Gate – and imposing Buddhist structure featuring a massive paper lantern dramatically painted in vivid red and black.
